Meet Paul
Silvergate Realty was born from a passion rooted in the essence of the word “home.” Finding that perfect place that checks all of the boxes - most importantly somewhere you can see yourself making memories.
An avid owner/investor in many of his own properties, Paul knows how houses work, not just what they are worth. He has collaborated with contractors on countless projects for twenty plus years. The bench experience of the Silvergate team spans hundreds of client transactions – including many of their own. Silvergate Realtors have perfected their practice and are excited to share their knowledge with you.

Silvergate
While contemplating a career change from public service to Charlottesville real estate consulting, I set a goal to establish my own firm within five years. By 2004, I owned several investment properties.
Most weekends, my beloved Collie/Shepherd mix Tucker and I would jump in my old pickup and make the rounds to perform maintenance or improvements. On one particular Saturday, Tucker’s rear leg became painfully lodged in the top of a fence. After pulling him loose, I instantly decided to install a gate into this 40+ year old fence. My neighbor happened to have an old rusty gate that seemed perfect for the job. After pulling off overgrown ivy and debris from it, I sanded off the rust and applied a coat of brilliant silver paint while Tucker patiently supervised. Just at that moment, a thought came to mind: now that I had committed to becoming a Realtor and one day owning my own firm, I concluded that “Silvergate” was the perfect name given its relevance to real estate as well as my adored Tucker.
“In August 2010, I realized my goal of establishing Silvergate Realty. “Silvergate” means so much to me now that Tucker is gone (he passed in 2009 after 14 wonderful years). So, when you see the Silvergate logo, know that there is a very special connection. My passion for Tucker lives on through my business endeavors”.
